A5 is easy to hold, share and give as a gift. A few thoughtful layout choices help photographs and captions work well on its smaller pages.
Pick an orientation for your photos
Choose portrait for individual portraits, baby milestones and taller images. Landscape suits holiday views and group photographs. You can mix photo orientations in either format, so choose the book shape that suits the images you most want to feature.
Choose the feel of your cover
Softcover uses flexible 250gsm silk with gloss lamination for a lighter book. Hardcover uses 200gsm silk wrapped around rigid 2.25mm board with gloss lamination. Traditional folded endpapers connect the book block to the case, with gauze reinforcing the spine.
Plan your pages and paper
Start with 20 pages, then add two-page spreads up to 200 pages. Each extra A5 spread costs £0.28, so 20 extra pages cost £2.80. Choose 170gsm gloss for a shiny finish or 170gsm 100% recycled silk for a subtler sheen.
Keep smaller layouts clear
Use original JPG or PNG photos and avoid squeezing too many pictures onto one page. Give important images room and check that captions are easy to read. Review cropping, spelling and page order before placing your order.

What are A5 photo books suitable for?
A5 photo books are a compact choice for travel albums, baby milestones, family memories, pet books and personalised gifts. Both portrait and landscape formats are available with hardcover or softcover.
What is included in the starting price?
The starting price includes a personalised photo book with 20 pages in the selected cover and paper option. Standard books use 170gsm gloss paper. Products labelled Recycled use 170gsm 100% recycled silk. Additional pages and delivery may cost extra.
Can I add or remove pages while designing?
Start with 20 pages and add pages in two-page spreads, up to 200 pages. You can remove the spreads you add, but a book started with 20 pages cannot be reduced below 20.
How much do extra A5 photo book pages cost?
Each additional two-page spread costs £0.28. Adding 20 extra pages means adding 10 spreads, costing £2.80. Extra spreads are excluded from Picsme Forever.
Can I choose an A5 hardcover or softcover book?

Yes, upload your photos as JPG or PNG files. Use the original files wherever possible, and check each layout before ordering. Give photographs enough space and avoid small, crowded layouts.
